The program for the 37th RIGA FASHION WEEK has been announced

SS23

Fashion as a part of art is the leitmotif chosen for the theme of RIGA FASHION WEEK, which will take place in the capital from October 20th to October 25th. The theme runs as a common thread throughout the entire program, with a focus on sustainability and ethics. The upcoming RFW session will feature more than 17 brands, including debutants, international eco-brands, and local industry giants.

The Riga Fashion Week will commence with the opening of the exhibition "Fashion Panorama: Italian New Wave" at the Ola Foundation art gallery. The exhibition tells the story of contemporary Italian fashion through the vision of ten young designers selected for their unique perspective and unconventional creative approach. On the same day, the Fashion Museum will host the opening of another exhibition, "Black, White, Red," dedicated to the perception and history of color in fashion. The exhibition will showcase archival clothing from various eras united by this classic color combination.

The fashion shows of the children's fashion brands Paade Mode and Rock & Mouse will take place in a new urban space — the "Eviart Gallery." The day will conclude with a bridal gown presentation by the Latvian brand Amelii. Besides the new location, fashion will take place quite literally at new heights for the second time in the Zunda Towers. It is here that the season's debutantes will present current trends to the guests — Dans Krumpāns from Latvia and Marina Fedan from Germany, as well as the well-known Lithuanian designer Agne Kuzmickaite. In turn, the Uzbek brand Moel Bosh and the Latvian brand Selina Keer will welcome all interested guests in their showrooms.

On the main runway in the capital, the latest trends will be showcased by brands that have firmly established their positions in the Baltic countries — Amoralle, Collected Story, Natalija Jansone, Iveta Vecmane, Nolo, BAE by Katya Shehurina (all from Latvia), and Ivo Nikkolo (Estonia). The presentation of the Polish brand Szczygiel- (Poland) will serve as a clear example of a collection adhering to the principles of sustainable development, with all products made from surplus and raw materials used in accordance with zero-waste principles.

The eco-agenda will not only be reflected in collections but also in educational initiatives. The Baltic Fashion Federation, Stockmann department store, and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia will organize a panel discussion featuring recognized experts from Scandinavia and the Baltics on the importance of sustainable production in the fashion industry. This discussion will take place at the "Forum Cinemas" venue.

As part of the collaboration between recognized Latvian designers and Stockmann department store, a special showcase will take place on the main stage of RFW, featuring Pixie Won't Play, Anna Led, Guna Nabare, Una Bērziņa, and Cinnamon Concept. The show is curated by Cynthia Selitska, one of Latvia's leading stylists and fashion bloggers.

The conclusion of Riga Fashion Week will be marked by a party at the "A'Drop" bar.

Stockmann department store is the general partner of RFW.
