Where Fashion Meets the Sunset: Riga Fashion Week to Open with a Spectacular Show at a Yacht Marina

AW26/27

On 20 October, the autumn edition of Riga Fashion Week will kick off with a special fashion event at the ExPorto yacht marina, where a 100-metre wooden pier, views of the Daugava River and the glow of the setting sun will create an extraordinary runway for collections by designers from three countries.

This autumn, fashion will step beyond traditional show venues to embrace the openness of the water, the rhythm of the city and the evening light. The wooden pier at the ExPorto yacht marina will become a spectacular runway, with the Daugava River providing a scenic backdrop and lending the shows a distinctive atmosphere. In this setting, contemporary design, creativity and international fashion culture will come together in a single event, marking the beginning of a five-day programme.

The opening show will feature designers from Latvia, the United Kingdom and Italy, offering audiences an opportunity to discover distinctive creative visions and the diversity of contemporary fashion.

Latvian emerging designer Katrīna Ermanoviča will make her debut at Riga Fashion Week with her collection “Lost in Time”, which has already received recognition at the 2026 fashion show of the Art Academy of Latvia. Her participation marks the arrival of new names in Latvia’s fashion scene and highlights the creative potential of the next generation of designers.

Meanwhile, Szczygiel, a brand representing the United Kingdom and Poland, is already familiar to Riga Fashion Week audiences. Its collections have received acclaim on several occasions for their conceptual approach and commitment to sustainable design.

Italian brand Dekel will introduce its latest collection to Latvian fashion audiences, making its debut both at the opening show and at the show on 21 October at the Zunda Towers complex.

The participation of designers from three countries on opening night reflects the diversity of the fashion world and the importance of international collaboration, while drawing attention to the emerging generation of designers and the future directions of fashion. Distinctive creative visions will converge on a single runway, creating a dialogue between cultures, aesthetics and contemporary ideas.

Following the fashion show, the evening will continue with a celebratory dinner at Shiyuzu restaurant and a party at Icon Bar. Guests will be able to enjoy not only the fashion event but also the evening’s atmosphere, social encounters and festivities, bringing together representatives of the creative industries and fashion enthusiasts. Advance table reservations are required for dinner at Shiyuzu restaurant.
